As of July 27, 2023, the U.S. government is extremely limited in providing emergency services to U.S. citizens in Haiti.

Peru's Guillain-Barre Syndrome Outbreak Reaches 237 Cases

Peru's health authorities recently reaffirmed the ongoing Health Emergency regarding the number of Guillan-Barre Syndrome (GBS) patients.
As of July 20, 2023, media sources reported the Republic of Peru's national health emergency remains active, with 237 GBS cases reported. Weekly, an average of 25 GBS cases are being reported.
Lima remains the outbreak epicenter, with 25% of GBS cases confirmed.

Europe's Mosquito Concerns May Last Decades

According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), this trend creates more favorable conditions for invasive mosquito species such as Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti. 
Ten years ago, the Aedes albopictus mosquito was established in 8 EU/EEA countries, with 114 regions affected.
In 2023, the disease-carrying mosquito could be established in 13 countries and 337 regions.

Malaria Vaccinations Expand Across Africa

The World Health Organization (WHO), GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, and UNICEF jointly announce today the existing Malaria Vaccine Implementation Program will expand over the next two years to reach twelve African countries.
In addition to Ghana, Kenya, and Malawi, the initial 18 million malaria vaccine allocation will enable nine more countries, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Liberia, Niger, Sierra Leone, and Uganda, to introduce the vaccine into their routine immunization programs for the first time.
