Global health researchers at the Rutgers Global Health Institute recently analyzed data from Mexico's Ministry of Health to identify dengue fever hotspots. 
Dengue fever has been reported in 28 of 32 states in Mexico, and researchers have long known that socioeconomic status and weather affect dengue fever outbreaks.
But the factors contributing to disease severity haven't been studied.

Mpox Cases Continue Decreasing in 2023

The World Health Organization (WHO) published the Multi-country Mpox outbreak, External situation report #15, confirming Mpox cases recently increased by 716 new cases (0.8%) and nine new related fatalities.
However, reported cases have been steadily declining globally as of February 2, 2023.
From January 2022 through January 30, 2023, a cumulative total of 85,449 laboratory-confirmed cases of mpox and 89 deaths have been reported from 110 countries/territories/areas in all six WHO Regions.

Uganda's Recent Ebola Outbreak Ends

There was very good news reported today by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Africa regarding the recent Sudan ebolavirus outbreak in the Republic of Uganda.
Today, the government of Uganda declared the end to the Ebola outbreak that began in September 2022, The last patient was released from care in late November 2022, which started the 42-day countdown to the end of the outbreak.
This was Uganda's first Sudan ebolavirus outbreak in a decade and its fifth overall for this kind of Ebola.
